Common questions
A few useful answers.
When will ChoreChart Family be available?
ChoreChart Family is currently in final testing on iPhone and iPad via Apple TestFlight, ahead of its full App Store release - see the beta page to join now. Android is still in active development.
What can I use for free?
ChoreChart Family is free to download and use for families with up to two children. Core chores, points, pocket money and savings, approvals, step-by-step mode, achievements, rewards and everyday household-planning tools remain available without purchasing Premium.
What does Premium add?
Premium lets you add a third child and beyond, use more AI meal generation, redistribute chores and points with AI, generate a complete weekly meal plan and sync family data across your devices with iCloud. The planned Australian launch prices are A$24.99 per year or A$49.99 as a one-time lifetime purchase; Apple displays the final price for your region.
Does ChoreChart Family require an account?
No. ChoreChart Family can be used locally without creating an account. Optional sync features use the cloud service selected in the app; Premium iCloud sync uses the Apple Account already signed into your device.
Can more than one child use it?
Yes. Each child can have their own profile, colour theme, chores, points, achievements and savings progress within one family setup.
What is ADHD-friendly mode?
It breaks a larger chore into smaller, focused steps and shows one clear action at a time. It is a practical focus aid, not a medical product or treatment.
Does the app move real money?
No. Parents can choose a points-to-dollar value to help children understand saving and pocket money, but ChoreChart Family does not hold funds, make payments or provide financial advice.
Where is family information stored?
Core app information is stored on the device. If optional Premium iCloud sync is turned on, selected family information is additionally stored in your own private iCloud account (via Apple's CloudKit) - never in a database run by ChoreChart Family or Goodfield Studio. See the privacy page for details.
Can two parents on different Apple Accounts share one household?
Not yet for iCloud sync specifically - it uses whichever Apple Account is already signed into each device, and syncs within that one private iCloud account only, so two parents on two different Apple Accounts each get their own separate copy rather than one shared household. The most common workaround today is keeping the family's devices signed into the same Apple Account for this app, or using local-only mode and comparing progress in person. Proper multi-Apple-Account household sharing is a reasonable future request - let us know via the contact form if this matters to your family.
What should I include in a bug report?
Please include the device model, iOS or Android version, ChoreChart Family version, the screen you were using and the steps that led to the problem. Screenshots are helpful, but remove any family information you do not want to share.
Can I suggest a feature?
Absolutely. Choose “Feature suggestion” in the contact form and tell us about the problem you want to solve and how it affects your family.
